After the success of phase one, Procladd returned to install the roofing and cladding of phase two of the Ineos Headquarters in Grangemouth. The second phase was built to accommodate and centralise office staff that were previously disjointed, creating a campus for employees with enhanced wellbeing facilities. This was a ‘twin sister’ to the original phase, as the project had to mirror the original building, utilising the same palette of finishes and materials, with all floors being connected via a glazed link. Procladd had to work in conjunction with the glazing contractors to install the detailed sequencing of wall panels. Due to the close proximity of the building to the nearby gas and oil refinery, the panels were specified and designed to maximise the safety of the people in the building in the event of a bomb or explosion. The panels and fixings were therefore bomb blast proof and designed in such a way if the building was struck, they wouldn’t implode into the building to hurt anyone.
We also carried out an airtight test on this project for the cladding to achieve a certain target, increasing the buildings efficiency for reduced costs and emissions and to verify the build quality.
