As part of the Tay Cities Region Deal, partly funded by the UK and Scottish governments, the Edwardian Concert Hall known as Perth City Hall was chosen to be renovated into a major new museum to house the iconic Stone of Destiny. This project was technically demanding as Procladd were responsible for surveying the existing roof. Originally completed in 1911, Procladd had to carry out investigation works by coring holes to determine the existing build up and materials used. Sika was specified due to the existing concrete decking. The building forms the main infrastructure of Perth as it is located directly in the centre of the city. For this reason, we faced many different challenges from how busy the area was with public, congested roads in close proximity to the building and noise restrictions due to the adjacent residential flats. The site was very tight and timed deliveries were utilised for efficiency of space.
